Nations in Focus

These three nations have proven to be leaders in their region both in ministry growth, and organizational health. By focusing on strengthening these National Ministries, we are positioning them to mentor and bring up surrounding nations as they strive to grow their ministries as well. 

Here's the latest news on our Nations in Focus:

Bolivia, Guatemala, and Uruguay.

Bolivia

After a break, we reopened the doors of the Bernabé Youth Center and thanks to the support

of the Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church of the USA we were able to equip the

environments such as the cafeteria, the main room, among others.

The purpose is to be a place of recreation where young people

can develop their relationships in a healthy and safe way, in addition to feeling loved and

comforted. The cafeteria offers a variety of sandwiches, hamburgers, juices, coffees, among

other products. 

There are many programs offered at the Bernabe Youth Center. Music, English, leadership skills are just a few of the classes taught from a Christ-centered perspective that impels them to be an active and

significant influence in Bolivian society.

Every other Saturday, adolescents from 13 to 18 years old have time to share their concerns and be guided by the word. This semester we are working on Violence Prevention with the material from Claves Uruguay

"Contigo Confianza" at the end of which we intend to carry out the Good Treatment campaign in different places in the city of La Paz.

These are just a few of the exciting things happening in Youth for Christ Bolivia!

Guatemala

As ministry programs continue to grow, the Guatemala team is holding additional training programs for volunteers and staff so that they are well equipped to guide children and teens on their spiritual walk in the unique circumstances that these youth are facing.

Volunteers and staff spent time together in training for their work in the New Life providing discipleship and spiritual counsel for displaced children.

Uruguay

Youth for Christ Uruguay is Celebrating 50 Years of Ministry! 

This month the staff met together to share a time of reflection, balance and gratitude for the work they have continued to do for 50 years, and to pray for what is to come. This is the scripture that they share with us: 

“17 That is why I said to them:

“You are witnesses to our misfortune. Jerusalem is in ruins, and its gates have been consumed by fire. Come on, cheer up! Let's rebuild the wall of Jerusalem so that no one makes fun of us anymore!

18 Then I told them how the gracious hand of God had been with me, and I told them what the king had told me. Hearing this, they exclaimed:

-Let's do it!

And they joined the action to the word.”

Nehemiah 2:17 and 18.
